Designed to provide the province’s most talented players with a clear pathway to collegiate, professional, and national team opportunities, our BCSPL program is an integral part of player development in the region.

What is the BCSPL?
The BCSPL is the highest level of youth soccer in British Columbia. It is a standards-based league that ensures consistent, high-quality training environments and competitive play for athletes aiming to achieve their soccer aspirations. This league is recognized by Canada Soccer as the Provincial Development Program (PDP) and connects directly to national player pathways.

Age Groups and Pathways:
The BCSPL program at Okanagan United FC includes boys and girls teams from U13 to U18. Each age group aligns with Canada Soccer’s Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) model, ensuring age-appropriate coaching and competition.

Players in our BCSPL program are regularly scouted by BC Soccer and Canada Soccer representatives, providing pathways to provincial teams, national teams, and beyond.

How to Join the BCSPL Program:
Our club conducts annual evaluations and identification sessions to select players for the BCSPL program. These sessions are open to all athletes who demonstrate the skill, commitment, and potential to compete at the highest level.

Refund Policy

All requests must be made via email by the individual who paid the fee(s).
An administrative fee of $75.00 will be charged on approved refunds.
All refunds and their respective amounts are at the sole discretion of the Club.
OUFC commits to program expenditures once team evaluations are complete and registration numbers are determined. These expenses are not recoverable to the Club if/when a member withdraws.

Commitment fees are not refundable under any circumstances.

OUFC is not responsible for the following and will not entertain refund requests for monies:
Paid directly to a team or team official
Raised and collected by teams through sponsorship or fundraising
Events or circumstances beyond the club’s control (i.e. weather, strikes, etc.) will not be considered cause for refund.
There will be no refund/transfer for a registration fee if a player OR parent is suspended or expelled from OUFC, BC Soccer, or the BCSPL.
Subsequent to accepting a place in the OUFC BCSPL/Select/House program through the evaluation, registration, and payment process, there will be no refund at any point thereafter if a player or parent disagrees with the player's coach, team or club decisions
If families have a balance owing to OUFC when a player withdraws, a release letter allowing the player to enroll with another organization will not be issued until those fees are paid and the player’s account is in good standing. This is in keeping with BC Soccer and Canada Soccer rules.

Exceptions

FULL refunds will be granted (with no administrative fee) in the event OUFC is unable to field a team or provide a suitable program alternative. Jerseys must be returned to the club before a refund is issued.
Consideration will be provided for the following circumstances, at the Club's discretion:
Medical reasons – Injury/illness requiring long term rehabilitation (rehab carrying on longer than 3 months) will be considered for refund/stoppage of monthly payments going forward until the player is cleared to resume training (doctor's note describing the illness, injury and required recovery period

must be provided with a request). If players continue to travel with their team during injury, costs may be deducted from any refund. Commitment Fees are excluded from refunds.

Move - a player's family moves outside the Thompson Okanagan region (proof of move required). Jerseys must be returned to the club before a refund is issued. Commitment Fees are excluded from refunds.
A player attains a position on a higher-level team (full-time Whitecaps Residency, Girls REX Program).

At Okanagan United FC (OUFC), we are committed to developing not only skilled athletes but responsible, respectful, and resilient individuals. Participation in the BC Soccer Premier League (BCSPL) is a privilege that comes with high expectations—on and off the field. This Player Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behavior required from all OUFC BCSPL players.

1. Commitment to the Program

I understand that playing for a BCSPL team requires a high level of commitment and will attend all scheduled training sessions, matches, meetings, and events.
I will communicate promptly with coaches if I am unable to attend a session or match.
I understand that playing time is earned through effort, attitude, and performance, not guaranteed.

2. Respect & Representation

I will treat all teammates, opponents, referees, coaches, club officials, and spectators with respect at all times.
I understand that I represent Okanagan United FC and will conduct myself in a way that positively reflects the club, both online and offline.
I will respect all match officials and accept their decisions without argument or complaint.

3. Effort & Attitude

I will consistently give my best effort at training and in games, striving to improve and support my teammates.
I will be coachable—willing to listen, learn, and apply feedback.
I will maintain a positive attitude, even in difficult situations.

4. Team Environment

I will contribute to a supportive, inclusive, and hard-working team culture.
I will hold myself accountable and encourage my teammates in a constructive, respectful way.
I will arrive prepared, on time, and ready to engage fully in all team activities.

5. Communication & Feedback

I will communicate openly and respectfully with coaches and team staff.
I understand that performance feedback is part of high-level sport and will use it to grow as a player.
I will refrain from negative comments toward teammates, opponents, or coaching decisions.

6. Use of Technology & Social Media

I will use social media responsibly and never post content that is negative, inappropriate, or disrespectful toward teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, or the club.
I will not use technology in a way that can be construed as bullying, harassment, or exclusion.

7. Player Health & Well-being

I will prioritize my physical and mental health and inform staff of any injuries or concerns.
I will take ownership of recovery, nutrition, and lifestyle habits that support performance and development.
I will endeavor to maintain proper sleep routines to support my participation.

8. Club Policies & Discipline

I will adhere to all club policies, including team travel expectations, dress code, and training guidelines.
I understand that failure to meet the expectations in this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, which could include reduced playing time, suspension, or removal from the team.

9. Disciplinary Action & Dismissal Policy

Failing to conduct yourself in a manner consistent with this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to:

Verbal or written warnings
Reduction in playing time
Suspension from team activities
Immediate dismissal from the program

If dismissal or suspension occurs while the team is participating in an away game, tournament, or event, the player may be required to return home immediately at the expense of the parent or guardian, using the most practical method of travel available to team staff. No refunds or reimbursements of team or club fees will be issued under such circumstances.

Our primary responsibility as a club is to uphold a high-performance environment built on accountability, respect, and teamwork. Actions that compromise this environment will be taken seriously.
