We are pleased to offer to our graduating members financial recognition for their dedication, volunteerism and contribution to the club. Through the Central Okanagan Bursary Scholarship Society, OUFC offers 2 eligible candidates the opportunity to receive this grant towards their post secondary studies. The award factors in years participating with the club, volunteering with the club and financial need as identified through the COBSS third party criteria identification system.
Students looking to apply can do so through the COBSS Application.
In every community across British Columbia kids want a chance to play soccer. Unfortunately, some families simply cannot afford the registration fees for their child to play in an organized sport environment.
The benefits of sport participation are well documented and lived. Playing sports supports the development of self-esteem, community engagement, confidence, leadership and teamwork skills.
Any member seeking temporary financial support should contact the club operations manager to discuss in confidence flexible payment options. Alternatively, parents of children seeking financial assistance to cover registration fees should first contact the below agencies:
After all other sources have failed, members may apply to the club to have current registration fees waived or reduced. Additional consideration can also be provided with respect to outstanding balances with the club that are unable to be settled due to financial hardship.
Families needing support navigating this process can contact the club at admin@okanaganunited.ca submitting the required Financial Aid Application Form.
Criteria for request to access funding through Okanagan United Football Club include:
- Camps and Player Development Programs are not eligible for financial aid through the club without firstly being denied funding through the above listed sport charities.
- Priority will be considered for players who have played for the club in the previous season
- Priority will be considered for players/parents who have volunteered for the club in the past
- Priority will be considered for how long players/families have been with the club
- Financial aid will be added to the amount provided by 3rd party grant providers up to but not in excess of 100% (combined) of the total player registration fee payable to Okanagan United FC
All applications will be treated confidentially. Only the Director, Technical Director and Operations Manager/Administrator will have knowledge of the request and details of any grant provided.
