U5/U6 Enhanced Active Start Programs
We’re excited to share an update about our U5 & U6 programs at Okanagan United FC! Starting this season, these Active Start programs will adopt a new format, led by club staff and technical leads to provide an enhanced experience for our youngest players.
Here’s what’s new:
- Tailored Development: Sessions will follow a structured curriculum designed to build foundational skills and foster a love for the game.
- Qualified Coaching: Delivered by staff coaches and junior coaches, supervised by our technical leads, ensuring quality instruction and consistency.
- Fun-Focused Learning: A blend of engaging activities and skill-building to keep young players excited and motivated.
We see this as an important project in player development, providing the best possible foundation for young athletes to achieve long-term success. By introducing structured learning and high-quality coaching at an early age, we aim to create the best outcomes for continuous player growth and development.
Parent Involvement:
- U5 Program: Parent participation will remain an essential part of each session. Parents will be required to play a supportive role, helping to create a positive and interactive learning environment for the players.
- U6 Program: We are seeking parent volunteer coaches who are interested in receiving mentoring and development opportunities. As a volunteer coach, you will take the lead with your assigned U6 team during Saturday game days, applying the skills and knowledge gained through weekly sessions and mentorship with our club staff. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to take the lead and grow your coaching skills in a supportive environment while guiding and inspiring young players on the field, creating a positive and fun game day experience for everyone involved.
