U5 & U6 Fall Soccer Sessions: Fall Session runs October – December & Winter Session runs January – March, 2026
Okanagan United FC is proud to introduce programming for our U5 and U6 players to continue their passion for soccer through outdoor fall training and games. This program provides an active and challenging environment for U5 and U6 (2021-2019) players to develop the basic fundamentals.
The goals of the Skills Academy are to:
- ensure the best possible training environment for young players
- keep more players involved in the game for longer by providing an experience where they can see their success
- produce more more opportunities for young players to practice their skills
Fall Session will run on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings starting Friday September 5 – Saturday October 4, 2025.

U9 – U12 PLAYERS
Players who are not playing on a Development team but still looking for more year round training are encouraged to participate in our Player Development Centre. Under the guidance of our highly educated and experienced coaches, players will receive twice weekly training session where through skill building challenges and games, they work to develop and finesse their touch on the ball and movement off of it.
This program is based on twice weekly 1 hour training sessions (Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday determined by age and gender) in 10 week blocks. Sessions are typically played alongside our development teams to allow team coaches to identify player progression as skills improve throughout participation in the program.
Each week, coaches will instruct players on different positions and aspects of the game so they gain a better understanding of the tactics of the sport.

ADD ON Training Available: Saturday Game Sessions
Player’s have the option (within Skill Academy Registration) to add onto their training a third day of Soccer. Saturday Soccer Sessions aim to provide players the opportunity to implement their skills and try out a new position under greater pressure that a game format presents. Games are available for 5 sessions every other Saturday between October 18 – December 20, 2025, alternating gender each week.

For our young players just getting into the sport our Skills Academy program offers 1 hour of training once per week on Friday afternoon and a game session every Saturday morning over the 10 week program.
At this stage of their development players will be learning the basics and fundamentals of the game; building up their core techniques for passing, receiving and control with the ball. Exercises and games will heavily focus on building players’ confidence with these skills in a fun and positive manner; coaches will add in modifications to increase the difficulty as players become more proficient.

SELECT/DEVELOPMENT TRAINING PLAYERS
This program is available only to players who have been directly identified by the Technical Staff to participate in the training of our Select/Development Teams.
These players will train directly with the team sesssions and can be called up to participate in games and tournaments where there is a need. A player can train with the team throughout the Competitive season (April – June) in addition to their own team training; if there is a conflict in training sessions, they should attend their House Team training session.
Their program includes:
– Access to twice weekly team training sessions throughout the season
– Access to the S&C sessions during the year
– Training kit
– Equipment & facility fees
The total cost for this program is $795. If you are identified later in the season, your fee will be prorated based on training weeks missed.
KEEPER ACADEMY
This Invite Program is available to players who have shown interest and display a basic understanding and skill level of this unique and essential position on the soccer.
The program will run 1 day a week from October – June, with a 2 week break in December and March. Training is indoors during Fall and Winter and moves outdoors when the grass fields open up.
